The Hammersmith & Fulham Dementia Action Alliance unites various local organizations, businesses, and charities within the borough.
Its aim is to provide individuals from the community with opportunities to enhance their understanding of dementia and contribute towards improving the lives of individuals with dementia and their families.
Whether residing, working, or engaging in the borough's vibrant leisure activities, businesses, cultural events, or artistic offerings, everyone can participate in promoting dementia awareness and support.
The Dementia Friendly Community in Hammersmith & Fulham operates through a steering group that coordinates the efforts of the Dementia Action Alliance (DAA).
The steering group actively seeks opportunities to establish partnerships and initiatives within the borough, all with the aim of advancing this cause. It comprises a diverse range of organizations, both large and small, and welcomes members from various sectors, including local businesses, faith-based organizations, education, leisure, arts, housing, as well as statutory and voluntary sector health and care agencies.
Our overarching goal is to foster a community where individuals living with dementia feel confident, understood, and supported in leading fulfilling lives. The membership roster encompasses a wide array of entities, such as banks, leisure centers, emergency services, supermarkets, local authorities, hospital trusts, transport providers, and GP practices. We encourage organizations and businesses from all sectors to join us as members, and we place great value on partnerships and insights derived from people living with dementia and their caregivers.
